Rajouri MVD Intensifies Traffic Enforcement: 52 Vehicles Penalized and 11 Seized for Rules Violations

RAJOURI, MARCH 07, 2026 — In a major crackdown on traffic offenders, the Motor Vehicle Department (MVD) Rajouri conducted an extensive enforcement drive across various strategic locations in the district.

Under the direct supervision of ARTO Rajouri, Rajesh Gupta, the operation spanned Rajouri town, Manjakote, Dhangri, and key stretches along NH-144A. The drive was part of an ongoing initiative to bolster road safety and ensure strict adherence to the Motor Vehicles Act.

During the operation, the enforcement team inspected a total of 260 vehicles, leading to 52 challans issued for various traffic infractions.

These violations resulted in a total penalty of ₹1.14 lakh being imposed on the spot. Furthermore, the authorities took decisive action by seizing 11 vehicles, which included seven e-autos, three two-wheelers, and one tempo, due to the severity of their offenses.

In an effort to deter future misconduct, the department has also recommended the suspension of two driving licenses for grave traffic violations.ARTO Rajesh Gupta emphasized that these enforcement drives are not isolated incidents but part of a sustained campaign to instill discipline on the roads.

He reiterated that the department will continue to maintain a high level of vigilance across the district to curb illegal practices and reduce road accidents.
