CRPF 187 Battalion Marks 87th Raising Day with Blood Donation and Medical Camp in Udhampur

UDHAMPUR, MARCH 07, 2026 — In a significant humanitarian gesture to celebrate the 87th Raising Day of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), the 187 Battalion organized a comprehensive blood donation and free medical camp at its headquarters in Battal Ballian, Udhampur.

Held under the Civic Action Programme 2026, the initiative saw active participation from approximately 40 officers and personnel who voluntarily donated blood to support local healthcare needs.

The event was conducted with the professional support of a specialized medical team, including Pathologist Dr. Lubina Naseer, Dr. Akib Jawed from Government Medical College Udhampur, and Eye Specialist Dr. Ajoy Kumar from the Rotary Eye & ENT Hospital.

Beyond the blood donation drive, the camp served as a vital resource for the local community, providing free healthcare services to a large number of men, women, and children from Udhampur and surrounding villages.

Beneficiaries received a variety of diagnostic services, including ECG screenings, eye examinations, and blood pressure monitoring, alongside the distribution of free essential medicines. The programme was executed under the leadership of Md. Sazid, Commandant of the 187 Battalion, with key coordination from Dy. Commandant Jaswinder Singh and SMO Dr. Manmeet Kaur Brar.

Commandant Sazid praised the medical teams for their dedication and emphasized the critical importance of such civic initiatives in fostering strong community ties and saving lives through voluntary donation.
