KPDCL Announces Scheduled Power Shutdowns Across Srinagar and Ganderbal Districts; Check Affected Areas and Timings

SRINAGAR, March 5, 2026 — The Chief Engineer, Distribution of the Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has issued a formal notification regarding scheduled power shutdowns across several key regions to facilitate essential maintenance and technical upgrades.

Residents in the Ganderbal and Bandipora belts are advised to prepare for significant outages as the 33 kV Badampora Wangipora Tapline and the 33 kV Badampora Army Hakbara line will remain offline on March 14 and March 28, 2026. During these dates, power supply to areas including Batwina, Nowgam, Wangipora, Zazna, Sumbal, Hajin, and Hakbara, among others, will be suspended from 08 AM to 02 PM.

In a separate maintenance schedule, the 33 kV Badampora-Kurhama Dab and 33 kV Badampora Lar Tulmulla lines are slated for shutdown on March 11 and March 24, 2026. This will impact electricity supply to Kurhama, Baroosa, Sainik School, Safapora, Lar, Tulmulla, and surrounding localities between 08 AM and 02 PM.

Furthermore, a specific shutdown of the 33 kV Kangan Surfraw line has been announced for March 7, 2026, which will affect high-altitude areas including Gund, Kullan, Gagangeer, and the tourist hub of Sonamarg during the same morning-to-afternoon window. KPDCL has urged consumers in these affected zones to cooperate with the department as these measures are vital for ensuring long-term grid stability and improved service delivery.
