JAMMU, March 01, 2026 — In a high-level response to shifting regional dynamics, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha chaired a comprehensive review meeting today in Jammu to evaluate the prevailing security situation across the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
The meeting, attended by Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, DGP Nalin Prabhat, and all District Commissioners (DCs) and Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs), focused on maintaining internal stability and public order.
Highlighting that peace is a “collective responsibility,” the Lieutenant Governor appealed to all communities to remain united and calm during this period, while simultaneously commending the synchronized resolve of the J&K Police, security forces, and civil administration in their efforts to safeguard the region.
Beyond internal security, the Lieutenant Governor confirmed that the UT administration is closely monitoring the volatile situation in West Asia.
Senior officials are currently in active coordination with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) to ensure the safety and welfare of Jammu and Kashmir residents and students currently stationed abroad.
This dual-pronged approach emphasizes the government’s commitment to both local law and order and the protection of its citizens internationally, ensuring that all necessary measures are in place to address potential ripples from the global conflict.
