Jammu Police Tackle Drug Menace and Safety Concerns in Rajeev Nagar Outreach
JAMMU Feb 26— In a proactive move to fortify neighborhood security, the Jammu Police South Zone conducted a high-level Police Community Partnership Group (PCPG) meeting in Rajeev Nagar on February 26, 2026. Led by the SP City South Jammu, alongside the SHO of Bahu Fort and the Incharge of Narwal Police Post, the session served as a critical platform for residents to voice urgent safety concerns directly to law enforcement.
The dialogue centered heavily on the persistent threat of narcotics, with locals highlighting the presence of drug peddlers who have fueled a climate of fear within the community. While acknowledging recent progress in curbing the trade, police officials conducted a comprehensive awareness session on the devastating legal and health impacts of substance abuse. Residents were urged to act as the “eyes and ears” of the force by reporting suspicious movements immediately.
Beyond drug-related issues, the community raised alarms regarding late-night disturbances caused by loitering youth, which have compromised the sense of security for local families. In response, Jammu Police committed to intensifying night patrols and taking swift action against anti-social behavior. The meeting concluded with a mutual pledge to strengthen the community-police bond, ensuring that Rajeev Nagar remains a hostile environment for miscreants and a safe haven for its citizens.
