Western Command Showcases High-Tech Lethality: Indigenous Drones and Multi-Domain Might at Pathankot Investiture

PATHANKOT, February 26, 2026 — In a powerful display of military modernization and battlefield dominance, the Western Command conducted a landmark “Combatised” Investiture Ceremony and Capability Demonstration at the Mamun Military Station today.

Presided over by Lieutenant General Manoj Kumar Katiyar, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, GOC-in-C Western Command, the event transformed the traditional award ceremony into a high-octane showcase of integrated multi-domain operations.

Against the backdrop of Dhyan Chand Stadium, the Indian Army demonstrated its transition toward a fully digitized force, emphasizing indigenous innovation and precision strike capabilities that redefine the “Western Front” security architecture.

The highlight of the day was a sophisticated combat demonstration by the Bhairav Battalion, which showcased the seamless integration of battlefield digitization and indigenous drone technology.

Notably, the Command unveiled advanced drone systems with operational ranges exceeding 100 km, capable of deep-precision engagements and real-time tactical surveillance.

This technological leap, coupled with rapid force mobilization drills, underscored the Command’s readiness to shape the battlefield environment through high-tech attrition and swift, decisive action.

The display of these “Made in India” assets reflects a significant stride in Atmanirbhar Bharat, proving that the Western Command is no longer just maintaining readiness but is actively evolving into a future-ready, tech-enabled force.Beyond the hardware, the ceremony served as a solemn tribute to the human element of warfare.

Lt Gen Katiyar honored units and individuals for their exemplary service, specifically citing the success of Op SINDOOR and Op RAHAT. Addressing a diverse audience of military personnel, civil administration, and local citizens, the Army Commander reaffirmed that the Western Command remains steadfast in its commitment to territorial integrity.

He emphasized that the synergy between inter-agency coordination, technological modernization, and the indomitable spirit of the soldier ensures that the Indian Army remains prepared to meet any emerging security challenge across the spectrum of modern conflict.
