DGP Nalin Prabhat Reviews Budgam Security: Orders Tactical Shift to Neutralize Terror Ecosystem

BUDGAM, February 25, 2026 — Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat chaired a high-level security review meeting in Budgam today, signaling a significant shift toward modern, non-traditional combat tactics in the region.

Accompanied by Special DGP Coordination S.J.M. Geelani, IGP Kashmir Zone V.K. Birdi, and other senior officers, the DGP assessed the district’s operational readiness and counter-insurgency strategies.

During the session, SSP Budgam Nikhil Borkar provided a comprehensive briefing on ongoing anti-terror operations, area domination plans, and the district’s crackdown on drug trafficking.

Addressing the officers, Prabhat emphasized the need for “non-conformist” tactics to effectively neutralize Pakistani terrorists and dismantle the underlying support structures that sustain the separatist ecosystem.

The meeting focused heavily on the integration of actionable intelligence and seamless coordination between sister security agencies to fortify the existing security grid.

The DGP directed field officers to maintain a high state of operational momentum, specifically targeting the financial and logistical networks of terror sympathizers. Beyond kinetic operations, the DGP stressed the importance of community policing, urging officers to engage with peace-loving citizens to bridge the gap between the police and the public.

By adopting preventive measures against miscreants while maintaining an aggressive stance against militancy, the Jammu and Kashmir Police aim to establish long-lasting stability and peace across the district.
