MHA Announces Major IAS Reshuffle in AGMUT Cadre; Pranjal J. Hazarika Transferred to Jammu & Kashmir
NEW DELHI, February 25, 2026 — The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has initiated a significant administrative overhaul by ordering the transfer and posting of seven IAS officers within the AGMUT (Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Mizoram, and Union Territories) cadre.
According to an official directive issued on February 24, 2026, the competent authority has reassigned these officers to various states and Union Territories with immediate effect, or as otherwise specified, to streamline administrative functions across the cadre.
Key appointments include the posting of Pranjal J. Hazarika to Jammu & Kashmir from Delhi, while other shifts involve Dr. Sravan Bagaria moving to Goa and K.C. Sundar being assigned to Puducherry.The reshuffle further includes the transfer of Sushil Singh and Ranjeet Singh from Delhi to Mizoram, Sivakumar A.S. from Puducherry to Lakshadweep, and Ajay Kumar from Delhi to Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu (DNH&DD).
While most reassignments are immediate, the MHA notification, issued by Under Secretary Rakesh Kumar Singh, clarifies that the transfers for specific officers at serial numbers 1, 5, and 6 will formally take effect from June 1, 2026.
This directive has been circulated to the respective Chief Secretaries to ensure prompt compliance and a smooth transition of administrative responsibilities within the concerned regions.
