Operation Gani: White Knight Corps and SOG Poonch Bust Major Terrorist Cache in Gani Forest
POONCH, February 25, 2026 — In a major breakthrough under “Operation Gani,” the Indian Army’s White Knight Corps, in a joint mission with the Special Operations Group (SOG) of the Jammu and Kashmir Police, successfully recovered a significant cache of explosives and weaponry from the Gani Forest area of Poonch.
Acting on synergized intelligence inputs from both military sources and local police, security forces launched a precise search operation that led to the discovery of a terrorist hideout concealed beneath a natural cave.
The recovered arsenal included a large 4.5 kg Improvised Explosive Device (IED), a smaller 800-gram IED, two Chinese-made grenades, a 9mm pistol with ammunition, and twenty-two rounds of 7.62mm cartridges.
Following the discovery, the specialized Bomb Disposal Team moved in to neutralize the immediate threat, destroying the IEDs and grenades in situ to ensure no risk was posed to nearby civilian populations or operating troops.
This successful recovery highlights the seamless coordination between the Indian Army and the J&K Police in thwarting potential terror plots within the region.
The White Knight Corps has reaffirmed its commitment to the safety of the nation, stating that the hunt continues.
