Lt Gen Dhiraj Seth Reviews Joint Indian Army-CISF Counter-Terrorism Training in Bhopal

BHOPAL, February 25, 2026 — Underscoring the critical importance of inter-agency cooperation, Lieutenant General Dhiraj Seth, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C) of the Southern Command, visited the 7th Garhwal Rifles under HQ 21 Corps to review the ongoing integration of paramilitary and military forces.

During the visit, the Army Commander interacted with Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) Quick Reaction Team (QRT) personnel currently undergoing a specialized Army Attachment and Counter-Insurgency/Counter-Terrorism (CI-CT) training program.

Lt Gen Seth commended the CISF personnel for their dedication to professional growth, noting that such training is essential for refining the operational capabilities required to protect India’s most sensitive infrastructure.

The visit also featured a strategic discussion between the GOC-in-C and Atul Bhanotra, Commandant/CASO of ASG Bhopal, who emphasized that joint training exercises are the backbone of seamless coordination during real-world crises. By immersing CISF units in the Indian Army’s rigorous CI-CT environment, the initiative aims to build a unified and highly responsive security posture.

This collaborative effort not only strengthens the tactical synergy between the Indian Army and the CISF but also reaffirms a national commitment to maintaining a robust, multi-layered defense system capable of securing vital installations against evolving security threat.
