CRPF 137 Bn Launches 5-Day Volleyball Tournament in Udhampur to Promote Youth Fitness

UDHAMPUR, J&K — February 24, 2026The 137 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) officially commenced a five-day Volleyball Tournament today at the SRTC campus in Udhampur as part of its Civic Action Programme.

The event, designed to engage local youth and foster national spirit, features six competing teams, with the inaugural match played between Veer Volleyball Club and C.V.C. Volleyball Club. The opening game showcased high-energy plays and professional skill demonstrations conducted by CRPF personnel alongside local coaches.

The ceremony was attended by high-ranking officials, including Commandant M.K. Sicon and Second-in-Command Kartar Singh, as well as representatives from the Volleyball Association of Udhampur and the local community.

Beyond the competition, the tournament serves as a platform for mentorship, where coaches and officials provide vital guidance on physical fitness, sports discipline, and teamwork.

Participants are being encouraged to adopt healthy lifestyles and develop the mental resilience necessary for overall well-being. To further support local athletic talent, the CRPF distributed prizes and sports equipment among the players, reinforcing their commitment to promoting sports and fitness within the region.

This initiative continues the battalion’s tradition of organizing such community-focused events, following successful tournaments held in previous years.
