IGP Jammu Conducts High-Level Crime and Security Review in Doda to Bolster Regional Safety
DODA, J&K — February 24, 2026In a significant move to reinforce the regional security architecture, the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Jammu Zone, Bhim Sen Tuti (IPS), alongside DIG DKR Range, Shridhar Patil (IPS), chaired a comprehensive security assessment at the District Police Office in Doda.
The high-level meeting focused on a detailed analysis of prevailing law and order, crime trends, and the effectiveness of the current security grid.
SSP Doda, Sandeep Mehta (JKPS), presented a detailed crime profile, leading to a thorough evaluation of pending cases—specifically those involving NDPS (narcotics), UAPA (anti-terror), and other heinous offenses—with a clear mandate to expedite investigations and improve conviction rates through professional excellence.
The IGP emphasized a “zero-tolerance” approach toward organized crime, including drug trafficking and bovine smuggling, while directing officers to intensify intelligence-driven operations.
A key priority highlighted was the strengthening of inter-agency coordination and area domination in sensitive zones to maintain a robust counter-terrorism posture. Beyond enforcement, the session underscored the importance of public outreach and community policing to foster trust between the police and the citizenry.
The visit concluded with the distribution of merit certificates to police stations for their 2025 performance, as the IGP urged all ranks to remain operationally agile and mission-focused in safeguarding the district.
