Southern Army Commander Lt Gen Dhiraj Seth Reviews Sudarshan Chakra Corps’ AI and Drone Warfare Readiness

PUNE, MAHARASHTRA — February 24, 2024In a major push toward modernizing India’s combat capabilities, Lt Gen Dhiraj Seth, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Southern Command, conducted a high-level review of the Sudarshan Chakra Corps.

The visit focused on the formation’s transition into a tech-enabled force, emphasizing its “decisive combat advantage” in the modern battlespace. The Army Commander was briefed on a wide array of cutting-edge initiatives, including algorithmic warfare, the “AI-isation” of formations, and next-generation training modules.

These advancements align with the Indian Army’s designated “Year of Networking and Data-Centricity,” aiming to create a seamless, data-driven edge that integrates emerging technologies directly into operational infrastructure and organizational constructs.

A key highlight of the visit was the Commander’s inspection of the Sudarshan Chakra Advanced Drone Warfare School, a premier facility dedicated to specialized training in future warfare.

Lt Gen Seth lauded the formation’s innovation-driven approach, particularly in the rapid absorption of drone technology and the integration of artificial intelligence to enhance mission readiness.

Addressing the troops, he exhorted all ranks to remain technology-empowered and operationally agile, urging them to dominate the evolving battlefield with zeal.
