Future Warriors: NCC Cadets Experience Tank Rides and Drone Tech at Amritsar’s Khasa Garrison

AMRITSAR, February 24, 2026 — Fueling the aspirations of India’s next generation of defenders, a group of National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets from various schools in Amritsar recently participated in an immersive military orientation program at the Khasa Garrison.

Under the initiative “Igniting Young Minds,” the cadets were given a rare, hands-on experience of modern soldiering, ranging from high-octane tank rides to witnessing advanced drone flight demonstrations. The event was designed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and the reality of life in the Indian Army, providing the students with a first-hand look at the technology and discipline required to protect the nation’s borders.

The visit left the young cadets energized and inspired, with many expressing a renewed determination to successfully join the armed forces and “earn the Olive Green” uniform. By interacting with seasoned soldiers and exploring heavy weaponry, the cadets gained a deeper understanding of the “warrior spirit” and the technical evolution of the infantry.

Army officials noted that such engagements are vital for fostering leadership and patriotism among the youth, ensuring that the “future warriors” are not only fired up by the spectacle of military hardware but also by the profound sense of duty that comes with a career in the military.
