BSF Punjab Frontier Hosts Mega Bordermen Marathon 2026 to Mark Diamond Jubilee in Amritsar
AMRITSAR, FEB 22 :- Celebrating six decades of unwavering dedication to the nation, the Border Security Force (BSF) Punjab Frontier successfully organized the “Bordermen Marathon 2026” on February 22.
This flagship event, held in the holy city of Amritsar, served as a cornerstone of the BSF’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations, marking 60 years of distinguished service. Operating under the evocative theme “Hand in Hand with Border Population,” the marathon was specifically designed to bridge the gap between the “Sentinels of the Border” and the local communities, fostering a sense of mutual trust, unity, and shared national pride.
The massive sporting event saw an overwhelming response, drawing over 7,500 participants from across India and the globe. The diverse crowd included civilians, personnel from the armed forces and police, enthusiastic youth, veterans, and even international athletes. Recognized by the Athletics Federation of India, the competition featured three distinct categories: the Full Marathon (42.195 km), the Half Marathon (21.097 km), and a 10K run. The race followed a symbolic route, flagging off from the iconic Golden Gate and reaching its spirited conclusion at the Joint Check Post (JCP) Attari.
By aligning with the national FIT India Movement, the Bordermen Marathon 2026 transcended a simple athletic competition to become a powerful display of resilience and physical fitness. The event not only highlighted the BSF’s commitment to border security but also its role in promoting a healthy and unified India.
As the runners crossed the finish line at the border, the event stood as a testament to the enduring bond between the BSF and the citizens they protect, perfectly encapsulating the spirit of their 60th anniversary.
