Kishtwar Terror Encounter: Joint Forces Launch ‘Op Trashi-I’ to Flush Out Terrorists
KISHTWAR, J&K, Feb 22 — A major anti-terror operation, codenamed Op Trashi-I, is currently underway in the dense forest reaches of Kishtwar as security forces engage in a fierce gunbattle with holed-up terrorists.
The White Knight Corps of the Indian Army confirmed via X (formerly Twitter) that contact was established in the Passerkut area during a joint search mission conducted alongside the Jammu and Kashmir Police and the CRPF.
The encounter follows specific intelligence regarding terrorist movement in the high-altitude terrain, prompting an immediate and watertight cordon of the sector.
The operation, which has seen intensified activity throughout February 2026, has already resulted in significant developments.
Earlier phases of Op Trashi-I led to the neutralization of at least one terrorist in the Dichad area of Chatroo and the recovery of winter hideouts packed with rations.
As of today, the Gun fight continues as elite troops use advanced surveillance, to navigate the challenging, snow-bound topography.
The White Knight Corps has reiterated its commitment to eliminating the terror threat in the Chenab Valley, with senior commanders recently visiting the frontline to review operational preparedness and ensure the safety of the local population.
