Huge Drug Bust in Mizoram: Assam Rifles Seizes Methamphetamine Worth ₹47.74 Crores
ZOKHAWTHAR, MIZORAM – In one of the most significant narcotics seizures in recent months, the Assam Rifles, in a joint operation with the Zokhawthar Police, successfully intercepted a massive consignment of Methamphetamine tablets on February 21, 2026.
The operation took place at General Area Crossing Point-III in the border town of Zokhawthar, resulting in the recovery of 15.916 kg of the synthetic drug, estimated to be worth approximately ₹47.74 crores in the international market.During the tactical interception, security forces apprehended one individual at the scene.
Along with the high-value contraband, the suspect’s motorcycle was also impounded. Following the seizure, the individual and the recovered drugs were handed over to the Zokhawthar Police Department for further legal proceedings.
