Major Encounter Erupts in Kishtwar: Jaish-e-Mohammad Commander Reported Trapped
KISHTWAR, JAMMU & KASHMIR Feb 22 – A fierce gunfight broke out between security forces and terrorists in the Kishtwar district early this morning.
Acting on specific intelligence regarding the presence of insurgents in the area, a joint team of the Indian Army, CRPF and Jammu & Kashmir Police launched a coordinated search operation.
As the forces closed in on a suspected hideout, the trapped terrorists opened fire, triggering a high-stakes encounter.
According to preliminary sources, Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) commander is believed to be among those pinned down by the security cordon.
Security forces have tightened the perimeter around the encounter site to prevent any escape attempts.
