Female Drug Peddler Arrested in Samba; Heroin and Weighing Scale Seized Near AIIMS Vijaypur
SAMBA, February 16, 2026: As part of an ongoing intensified crackdown on narcotics, the Samba Police have arrested a female drug peddler in the Vijaypur area and recovered approximately 6.40 grams of a heroin-like substance, commonly known as “chitta.”
The operation was carried out by a vigilant team from the Vijaypur Police Station during a routine “naka” (checkpoint) search on the Rakh Barotain road, situated near the AIIMS residential complex.
The suspect was intercepted after being spotted moving under suspicious circumstances, leading to a targeted search and the subsequent discovery of the contraband.
The arrested individual has been identified as Soma Bibi, wife of Jamat Ali and a resident of Rakh Barotian, Vijaypur. In addition to the narcotics, police officials seized a digital weighing machine, which is typically used for the precise packaging and sale of illegal drugs.
Following the arrest, a formal case has been registered under FIR No. 27/2026, invoking Sections 8, 21, and 22 of the NDPS Act. This arrest highlights the Samba Police’s commitment to dismantling local drug distribution networks and ensuring a drug-free environment for the community.
