J&K Police Basketball Tournament Concludes in Pulwama; HR Ballers and Dolphin Club Crowned Champions

PULWAMA, February 16: The sports arena at Pulwama was filled with energy as the Boys & Girls Basketball Tournaments, organized under the Civic Action Programme (CAP) 2025–26, reached a grand conclusion at the District Sports Stadium.

The final ceremony was presided over by SSP Pulwama, Tanushree-IPS, who was joined by senior officers and a large crowd of enthusiastic spectators. Addressing the youth, SSP Tanushree emphasized that such sporting initiatives are designed to foster discipline and confidence, reaffirming the J&K Police’s commitment to providing constructive platforms that allow young athletes to channel their potential positively.

In a thrilling Boys’ category final, HR Ballers Basketball Club Pulwama emerged victorious after a hard-fought match against Brothers Basketball Club. The champions were awarded a trophy and a cash prize of ₹20,000, while the runners-up received ₹15,000.

Similarly, in the Girls’ category, Dolphin Basketball Club Pulwama showcased exceptional skill to defeat Solace International Basketball Club, walking away with the top prize of ₹20,000. Individual brilliance was also celebrated, with the ‘Player of the Tournament’ in each category receiving ₹5,000 and ‘Player of the Match’ winners earning ₹3,000.

To further encourage local talent, the J&K Police distributed professional sports uniforms to all finalists, marking another successful chapter in their ongoing efforts to strengthen police-public partnerships through youth engagement.
