DIBANG VALLEY, February 13, 2026 – Strengthening India’s defensive posture along the Line of Actual Control (LAC), the Dao Division under the Spear Corps successfully conducted a high-altitude drone-based surveillance exercise in the rugged Dibang Valley of Arunachal Pradesh.
The exercise was designed to test the operational readiness of unmanned aerial systems in one of the world’s most challenging geographic terrains. During the drills, the Indian Army showcased the capability for rapid deployment, launching surveillance assets in quick succession to provide commanders with real-time monitoring and situational awareness across snow-clad peaks and dense forested valleys.
The exercise highlighted the transition toward technology-driven border management, emphasizing precise action and rapid response based on live data feeds. By integrating advanced drone technology into routine patrolling, the Spear Corps demonstrated its ability to maintain a persistent watch over strategic corridors where traditional physical surveillance is often hindered by extreme weather and topography.
This successful demonstration underscores the Indian Army’s commitment to modernizing its “eye-in-the-sky” capabilities, ensuring that the sovereignty and security of the Arunachal frontier are maintained with cutting-edge technological superiority.
