PUNE, February 13, 2026 – Marking a significant step toward integrated military administration, the National Academy of Defence Financial Management (NADFM) and the Army Training Command (ARTRAC) have signed a formal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to institutionalize collaboration between the Indian Army and the Defence Accounts Department.
The agreement was signed in the presence of the Director, NADFM, establishing a structured framework for capacity building and cross-learning. This partnership is designed to bridge the gap between operational requirements and financial oversight, ensuring that both Service Officers and officers of the Indian Defence Accounts Service (IDAS) gain a deeper, more practical understanding of each other’s professional domains.
The collaboration will facilitate a “shared understanding” of roles and responsibilities, which is expected to significantly enhance operational efficiency and fiscal discipline within the armed forces. By fostering structured exposure to diverse perspectives—ranging from battlefield logistics to complex budgetary management—the MoU aims to create a more cohesive decision-making ecosystem.
Officials highlighted that this institutionalized exchange will not only streamline financial processes but also empower military leadership with better financial literacy, ultimately supporting the long-term modernization and readiness goals of the Indian Army in an increasingly complex security environment.
