UDHAMPUR, February 11, 2026 — In a proactive effort to enforce traffic discipline and mitigate public nuisance, the Udhampur Police, acting under the direct supervision of SSP Udhampur, launched a specialized drive against modified vehicles.
Led by SHO Purab Singh, the operation focused on intercepting motorcycles equipped with illegal and modified silencers that significantly contribute to noise pollution in the region. Several motorcycles were seized on the spot as part of the police department’s commitment to ensuring strict compliance with the Motor Vehicles Act.
Police officials emphasized that this crackdown is not a one-time event but part of an ongoing initiative to maintain law and order and protect residents from the disturbance caused by altered exhaust systems.
