JAMMU, February 11, 2026 — As part of an ongoing intensified drive to curb the illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, the Jammu (Rural) Police have successfully intercepted and detained three vehicles operating without valid permits.
In the first operation, a police team from the Jhajjar Kotli Police Station intercepted a tractor-trolley (Registration No. JK14K-4955). The vehicle was found loaded with minerals and was immediately detained on-site after the driver failed to produce any legal authorization for the cargo.
In a secondary action targeting the same illegal trade, officers from the Sidhra Police Post seized two additional tractor-trolleys during routine checks. These vehicles, identified by registration numbers JK20-9486 and JK02DE-0155, were found to be directly involved in the unauthorized transport of mining materials and were taken into custody.
Following these seizures, the Jammu Police informed the District Mineral Officer (DMO) to ensure that further legal proceedings are initiated under the relevant provisions of the mining laws. The Jammu (Rural) Police have reiterated their commitment to protecting natural resources and maintaining a high level of vigilance against mining violators in the region.
