JAMMU/SRINAGAR, Feb 11, 2026 — The Jammu & Kashmir Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today observed Samarpan Diwas across the Union Territory to commemorate the Punyatithi (death anniversary) of its founding ideologue, Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay. High-level programs were organized at district headquarters, where senior leaders and party workers gathered to pay floral tributes to the visionary philosopher.
The day served as a reaffirmation of the party’s commitment to Integral Humanism and the principle of Antyodaya—the upliftment of the very last person in the socio-economic queue.Paying tributes from New Delhi, J&K BJP President and Rajya Sabha MP Sat Sharma (CA) described Upadhyay as the architect of value-based politics in India. He noted that the party’s people-centric approach, rooted in nationalism and ethics, is a direct reflection of Upadhyay’s vision.
Meanwhile, in Srinagar, General Secretary (Org) Ashok Koul emphasized that the various welfare schemes launched by the PM Modi-led government for farmers, women, and the marginalized are practical manifestations of the Antyodaya philosophy.
He asserted that the ideological strength of the BJP continues to be drawn from these core values, which prioritize social justice over political power.At the party headquarters in Trikuta Nagar, Jammu, former Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Nirmal Singh and General Secretary Baldev Singh Billawaria addressed a large gathering of supporters.
Dr. Singh highlighted that the BJP’s current national prominence is a result of its unwavering adherence to Upadhyay’s path of inclusive development.
The event, organized by the Aajivan Sahayog Nidhi Department, saw participation from various vice-presidents and wing heads, all of whom pledged to carry forward the selfless mission of the late leader in service to the nation and society.
