BHUBANESWAR, Feb 11, 2026 — Emphasizing the critical link between indigenous innovation and national defense, Lt Gen Ajay Chandpuria, GOC Vajra Corps, visited the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) to interact with the next generation of Indian pioneers.
During his visit, the General engaged in extensive discussions with faculty members, students, and startup founders who are currently developing cutting-edge technologies designed to bolster the nation’s strategic capabilities. He commended the academic community for its dedication to research and development, noting that the energy of young innovators is a primary driver of India’s growth.
During his address, Lt Gen Chandpuria urged the youth to adopt a “Whole-of-Nation” approach toward progress, framing self-reliance not merely as a goal but as a necessity. He asserted that Atmanirbharta (self-reliance) is a strategic imperative for national security and the foundational pillar for achieving the Viksit Bharat 2047 vision.
