KATHUA, FEB 8, 2026 — Under the strategic supervision of SSP Kathua, Mohita Sharma (IPS), the Jammu & Kashmir Police successfully traced and recovered a 25-year-old woman who had been reported missing from the Billawar area.
The case originated on January 26, 2026, when Abdul Karim of Bhatodi, Tehsil Lohai Malhar, filed a formal complaint regarding his sister, Shamim Akhter, who had disappeared under unknown circumstances.
Acting on the missing report (GD No. 13), a specialized search team led by SHO Billawar, Insp. Zaheer Mushtaq, and overseen by SDPO Billawar, Neeraj Padyar, utilized a combination of technical surveillance and local human intelligence to locate her.
Following the completion of all necessary legal formalities, the woman was safely reunited with her family, and the missing person case has been officially closed.
