Jammu Police Recover Stolen Gold Worth ₹50 Lakh After High-Stakes Investigation into Showroom Theft

JAMMU, January 28, 2026 — In a major breakthrough, the Jammu Police has successfully recovered stolen gold jewelry valued at approximately ₹50 lakh linked to a high-profile theft at the Gamechanger Showroom.

Addressing a press conference at the Pacca Danga Police Station, Superintendent of Police (SP) Jammu North, Vivek Shekhar Sharma, revealed that the recovery followed an intensive investigation triggered by the initial report of the crime. Initial leads were gathered from a meticulous analysis of CCTV footage, which identified two women as the primary suspects.

Utilizing a combination of technical surveillance, social media monitoring, and scientific investigative leads, police teams successfully traced the movement of the suspects to the Rajgarh district of Madhya Pradesh, marking a significant cross-state operation.Despite the successful recovery of the high-value ornaments during multiple raids at various locations, the two accused women managed to evade capture and remain at large.

SP Sharma noted that while the suspects are currently absconding, the police have established a strong trail and are actively conducting follow-up raids based on fresh intelligence. The recovery of such a substantial amount of gold is seen as a major success for the district police’s specialized units.

Law enforcement officials expressed confidence that the suspects will be apprehended shortly, as specialized teams continue to track their whereabouts to bring the case to a full conclusion.
