Jammu Police Crack Down on Traffic Violators: Overloaded Mini-Bus Seized in Jhajjar Kotli

JAMMU January 28, 2026:- Continuing their intensive drive to enhance road safety and enforce traffic discipline, the Jammu (Rural) Police have initiated legal action against a mini-bus operator for severe safety violations.

During a routine check, a vehicle with registration number JK14C-9812 was intercepted by a team from the Jhajjar Kotli Police Station.

The mini-bus was found to be dangerously overloaded and was being operated in a rash and negligent manner, posing an immediate threat to the lives of the passengers and other commuters on the road.

In response to these violations, the police have registered FIR No. 14/2026 under Sections 281 and 125 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The offending vehicle has been officially seized as part of the legal proceedings, and a comprehensive investigation is currently underway to address the negligence.

Jammu (Rural) Police officials emphasized that this crackdown is part of a broader commitment to curb reckless driving and ensure that public transport operators strictly adhere to safety norms to prevent avoidable accidents and safeguard human lives.
