UDHAMPUR, JANUARY 27, 2026 — Executing a major crackdown on the narcotics trade, the Udhampur Police today attached movable and immovable properties valued at approximately ₹75 lakhs belonging to a notorious drug peddler.
The action, taken under Section 68-F of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, is linked to FIR No. 184/2025 registered at Police Station Rehambal. The assets belong to Kazim Ashraf, son of Mohd. Ashraf, a resident of the Old Bus Stand area in Bhaderwah, District Doda.
The seizure specifically includes a double-story residential house situated on nine marlas of land under Khasra No. 1479 Min.The attachment follows a rigorous financial investigation and backward linkage verification conducted by law enforcement.
Investigators discovered that the wealth used to acquire these properties was generated through the illegal proceeds of narcotics trafficking rather than legitimate income. With the formal attachment order passed by the competent authority, the police have effectively frozen the accused’s assets to prevent their use or sale.
Further legal proceedings are currently underway as part of the broader “Operation Sanjeevani” initiative aimed at dismantling the financial networks of drug cartels across the region.
