GANDERBAL, January 26, 2026 – The 77th Republic Day was observed across District Ganderbal today with immense patriotic fervor and community spirit. The district’s central celebration took place at the Madr-e-Meharban Qamariya Stadium, where DDC Chairperson Nuzhat Ishfaq unfurled the National Flag.
The ceremony was attended by Deputy Commissioner Jatin Kashore and SSP Khalil Ahmad Poswal, alongside a large gathering of local residents and officials. The event served as a powerful tribute to the nation’s democratic values and collective progress.
The festivities featured a grand parade commanded by Rakesh Singh, showcasing a disciplined display from a wide array of security forces and institutions. Participating contingents included the District Police Ganderbal, JKAP 14th Battalion, PTS Manigam, and multiple battalions from the CRPF and SSB. The march past also featured the DPL Women Contingent, Forest Protection Force, Home Guards, and specialized bands from the J&K Sainik School Manasbal and District Police Lines.
School children also marched with enthusiasm, adding a vibrant energy to the formal proceedings.In addition to the parade, the audience enjoyed a variety of colorful cultural performances by students and youth clubs, highlighting the rich cultural diversity of the region. The day concluded with a prize distribution and felicitation ceremony, where Nuzhat Ishfaq and district administrators awarded certificates of appreciation and prizes to participants for their outstanding performances. The celebration reaffirmed the district’s commitment to national unity and the spirit of the Constitution.
