Republic Day 2026 Celebrations Held Across Awantipora with Grand Parade and Cultural Programs
AWANTIPORA, January 26, 2026 – Patriotic enthusiasm swept through Police District Awantipora today as the 77th Republic Day was celebrated with high-spirited ceremonies at various police establishments, educational institutions including IUST and AIIMS Awantipora, and all block and tehsil headquarters.
The district’s central event took place at the District Police Lines, where Additional Deputy Commissioner Mushtaq Ahmad Lone unfurled the National Flag and took the salute at an impressive march past. The ceremony served as a testament to national unity, drawing a large crowd of local citizens who gathered to witness the festivities under meticulous security arrangements managed by the district police.
The parade, commanded by Danish Javed, featured disciplined contingents from the CRPF, District Police, JKAP Women Police, Home Guards, and a rhythmic Pipe Band, alongside enthusiastic participation from various local schools. Senior officials, including the SSP and Additional SP of Awantipora, the Tehsildar, and other civil and police dignitaries, were in attendance to honor the occasion.
Beyond the military display, the celebration was enriched by vibrant cultural performances that showcased the region’s talent, concluding with Mushtaq Ahmad Lone presenting awards to the day’s best performers for their exceptional contributions to the event.
