Rahul Gandhi Greets Nation on Republic Day, Calls Constitution the “Shield of Rights”
New Delhi | January 26, 2026 — Senior Congress leader and Leader of the Opposition (LoP), Rahul Gandhi, extended his warm greetings to the nation today on the occasion of Republic Day.
In a heartfelt post shared on X (formerly Twitter), Gandhi emphasized the central role of the Indian Constitution in safeguarding the lives of citizens, describing it as the greatest “weapon” and “shield” for every Indian.
The LoP highlighted that the Constitution serves as the primary voice of the people and the protective cover for their fundamental rights. He remarked that the foundation of the Indian Republic remains strong only when it is bolstered by the principles of equality and social harmony.
Gandhi asserted that the true strength of the nation lies in these values, urging citizens to remain committed to the spirit of the preamble.Concluding his message with a call to action, the Congress leader stated that protecting the Constitution is equivalent to protecting the Republic itself.
He noted that such commitment is the most authentic tribute to the sacrifices made by India’s freedom fighters. His message ended with the slogans, “Jai Hind! Jai Samvidhan!” (Long live India! Long live the Constitution!).
