HANDWARA, J&K | JANUARY 24, 2026 – Amidst high patriotic fervor, a comprehensive full dress rehearsal for the upcoming Republic Day-2026 celebrations was successfully conducted at the District Police Lines (DPL) in Handwara today.
The ceremony was presided over by Tehsildar Handwara, Naveed Ahmad, who unfurled the National Flag and inspected the participating parade contingents.
Led by DySP Vikram Choudhary, the disciplined march-past featured a diverse lineup, including District Police Handwara, IRP 4th Battalion, CRPF, Women Police, Home Guards, and the Police Band.
The event was further enlivened by enthusiastic participation from local students and captivating cultural performances by youth clubs, which showcased the region’s rich heritage and collective unity.
A significant public gathering witnessed the rehearsal, praising the well-coordinated arrangements as the district prepares for the main national event on January 26.
