Srinagar Airport Flight Cancellations Today: Heavy Snowfall and Security protocols disrupt travel
SRINAGAR, JAN 23, 2026 — Flight operations at Srinagar Airport (SXR) have been severely impacted today following continuous heavy snowfall since the early hours and scheduled airspace restrictions at Delhi Airport.
The Srinagar Airport Authority confirmed that persistent snow has hindered runway visibility and safety, leading to the cancellation of 26 major flights across various airlines.
While snow clearance teams are currently active on the tarmac, officials have warned that the normalization of flight schedules may take longer than expected.
In addition to the weather, several flights to and from the national capital were grounded due to a temporary suspension of civil aviation activities at Delhi Airport.
The list of cancelled flights includes several services by Air India, such as AI1799/1810, AI3423/3424, and AI1739/1818 from Delhi. Air India Express has also cancelled flights IX1980/1017, IX1012/1041, and IX1271/1272. Akasa Air flights QP1802/1803 and QP1637/1638 were similarly affected, alongside SpiceJet flight SG661/664.
IndiGo (6E) faced the highest number of disruptions, with 16 flights cancelled, including routes to and from Delhi, Chandigarh, Jammu, Amritsar, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad (specifically 6E6497, 6E6016, 6E6757, 6E5133, 6E6164, 6E202, 6E6265, 6E6288, 6E2044, 6E6762, 6E6352, 6E5106, 6E6253, 6E2207, 6E559, 6E874, and 6E2448).
