Kishtwar Encounter Update :-Security forces Engages Terrorists in Fierce Kishtwar Encounter

KISHTWAR, JAN 18: The Indian Army’s White Knight Corps has confirmed that a major gunbattle is currently underway between security forces and terrorists in the rugged Singhpora-Chhatru belt of Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar district.

In an official statement released via X (formerly Twitter), the Army detailed that Operation Trashi-I was launched in the general area of Son Nar, located northeast of Chhatru, during a deliberate search operation conducted alongside the Jammu and Kashmir Police. Contact was established when hiding terrorists opened fire on the joint search parties, prompting a professional and resolute response from the troops despite the extremely challenging terrain and hostile conditions.The operation remains in an active phase as additional reinforcements have been inducted to tighten the existing cordon and neutralize the threat. The White Knight Corps emphasized that the counter-terror operation is being carried out with close coordination between the civil administration and various security agencies to ensure maximum effectiveness. While the exchange of fire continues in the high-altitude forest area, security forces have sealed all exit routes to prevent the terrorists from escaping under the cover of the dense foliage.
