JAMMU, Jan 10 (2026): Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo today chaired a high-level review meeting to accelerate the expansion of Ayush-based healthcare across Jammu and Kashmir, focusing on infrastructure, service delivery, and professional education.
Highlighting the success of the National Ayush Mission (NAM), the Chief Secretary announced that all 523 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs are now fully operational, providing holistic wellness interventions across the Union Territory.
Key infrastructure milestones were highlighted, including the successful operation of the 50-bedded Integrated Ayush Hospital in Kulgam, which has catered to thousands of patients, and the nearing completion of the Billawar (Kathua) facility, expected to be ready by March 2026.
Additionally, the operationalization of the Gadhi Garh unit in Jammu marks a significant step in enhancing urban Ayush outreach.To further strengthen the healthcare ecosystem, the Chief Secretary discussed ambitious future projects, including the establishment of a Government Homeopathic Medical College in Kathua and a Government Ayurvedic Medical College in Baramulla.
The government also plans to set up integrated Ayush hospitals in all remaining districts and launch tele-consultation services via the e-Sanjeevani platform. Beyond infrastructure, the meeting highlighted the massive success of specialized public health programs like SUPRAJA (maternal health), VAYO MITRA (geriatric care), and KARUNYA (palliative care), which have reached hundreds of thousands of beneficiaries.
Dulloo emphasized that Ayush must be seamlessly integrated with mainstream healthcare, directing officials to ensure timely completion of ongoing projects and sustained community engagement through campaigns like “Har Ghar Ayush” to ensure holistic health services reach every corner of J&K.
