Pulwama Police Intercept Illegal Fuel Consignment to Prevent Public Safety Hazard
PULWAMA: 05 Jan 2026:- In a proactive operation aimed at neutralizing potential threats to life and property, the Pulwama Police successfully intercepted a vehicle at Litter today and seized a significant consignment of illegally transported inflammable fuel.
During a routine checking exercise, security personnel discovered six barrels of suspected petrol or diesel being moved without any valid authorization or safety permits. Recognizing the high risk posed by the unauthorized transport of hazardous materials through public areas, the police immediately confiscated the load carrier and the fuel barrels.
Following the seizure, a formal case has been registered at Police Station Litter under FIR No. 02/2026, invoking sections 303(2) and 287 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Ongoing investigations are currently focused on tracing the origin and intended destination of the fuel, as well as identifying any larger networks involved in this illicit trade.
The Pulwama Police have reiterated their commitment to maintaining public safety and have urged citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to law enforcement authorities immediately.
