SSP Jammu Chairs High-Level SMAC Meeting to Fortify Security for Republic Day 2026

JAMMU, JANUARY 02, 2026 — In a strategic move to reinforce the security grid ahead of the upcoming Republic Day celebrations, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jammu, Joginder Singh (JKPS), chaired a crucial Subsidiary Multi-Agency Centre (SMAC) meeting at the District Police Lines (DPL) Jammu today.

The high-level session brought together top brass from the Jammu & Kashmir Police, Indian Army, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF), and various intelligence agencies. The assembly, which included all Zonal SsP, SDPOs, and specialized DySPs, focused on creating a foolproof security blanket to counter potential threats from Anti-National Elements (ANEs) attempting to disrupt the peace and normalcy of the region.

During the proceedings, SSP Jammu lauded the security forces for their successful maintenance of law and order over the past year before pivoting to a comprehensive analysis of the current security landscape. The participants engaged in an intensive exchange of real-time intelligence, formulating joint strategies for aggressive area domination and enhanced surveillance.

A primary objective identified was the rigorous monitoring of social media platforms to preempt the spread of rumors and “fake news” that could incite instability. Specific directives were issued to ensure that every security layer, from ground patrols to intelligence units, operates with maximum alertness during the high-profile national event.

Emphasizing the need for a unified front, SSP Jammu instructed officers to maintain high-level synergy and ensure the prompt sharing of actionable data for immediate response. The meeting concluded with a mandate for detailed briefing and de-briefing of personnel (nafri) to ensure tactical readiness for any exigency.
