Jammu December 31, 2025:- Under the successful framework of “Operation Re-CONNECT,” the Jammu and Kashmir Police have recovered 200 lost or stolen smartphones with an estimated market value of ₹50 lakh.

These devices, which had been reported missing across various police stations in the district over several months and years, were restored to their rightful owners during a special ceremony at District Police Lines (DPL) Jammu.

The recovery mission was spearheaded by specialized technical teams from the South Zone, Headquarter Zone, and the Cyber Police Station Jammu, who tracked the devices across the Union Territory and various other states.

The distribution function was presided over by SSP Jammu, Joginder Singh, alongside senior officers including the SP Headquarters, SP Operations, SP Rural, and SP South Jammu. The event witnessed emotional scenes as citizens were reunited with devices containing essential personal data and cherished memories.

To ensure legal accuracy, the police followed a strict verification process, requiring owners to present valid identity documents and original purchase bills before the handsets were officially handed over.

During the event, police leadership took the opportunity to educate the public on mobile security and data protection. SP Headquarters Jammu advised citizens to implement robust security measures, such as two-factor authentication, remote tracking features, and frequent software updates to safeguard their personal information.

The successful execution of Operation Re-CONNECT highlights the commitment of the Jammu Police to community-centric policing and their technical capability in tackling property-related offenses.
