Samba Police Arrest Two Drug Peddlers in Ramgarh; Heroin and Innova Seized in Major Crackdown

SAMBA, DECEMBER 24, 2025: As part of its intensive ongoing campaign to eradicate the narcotics trade, the Samba Police successfully apprehended two drug peddlers within the jurisdiction of Police Station Ramgarh on Wednesday.

Acting on reliable intelligence, a specialized police team established a strategic vehicle-checking checkpoint (naka) near Khanpur. During the operation, officers intercepted a Toyota Innova with registration number JK14A-5081, which was traveling from Koulpur toward Ramgarh via Keso.

A thorough search of the vehicle led to the discovery and seizure of approximately 10 grams of a substance suspected to be heroin, commonly known as “chitta,” along with the impounding of the luxury car used in the commission of the crime.The arrested individuals have been identified as Surinder Singh, a resident of village Parthal in the Katra area of Reasi district, and Jasvir Singh, a resident of Chann Khatrian in the Hiranagar area of Kathua district.

Following the recovery, a formal case has been registered under FIR No. 93/2025 at Police Station Ramgarh, invoking relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

This latest operation underscores the Samba Police’s commitment to dismantling drug distribution networks across district boundaries and tracking the movement of contraband via commercial and private vehicles.

A detailed investigation is currently underway to determine the source of the narcotics and identify any further linkages in the smuggling chain.
