Jammu and Kashmir weather update forecast rain alert flash flood advisory
SRINAGAR, July 11, 2026: The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has issued a fresh weather update predicting rain and thundershowers across many places in Jammu and Kashmir between July 11 and July 20.
According to the forecast, one or two spells of rain are expected on July 11 and July 12, with a high probability of heavy rainfall and brief intense showers at isolated places in the Chenab Valley and the Pir Panjal range of Jammu Division.
From July 13 to July 17, the weather is likely to remain generally hot and humid, though scattered places may experience brief spells of rain and thundershowers alongside isolated intense showers in the Jammu Division.
A fresh spell of light to moderate rain and thundershowers is expected to cover many places again between July 18 and July 20.
The weather department has also issued a safety advisory warning residents of potential heavy rainfall during afternoon and early morning hours on July 11 and July 12.
There is a strong possibility of flash floods, landslides, and mudslides in vulnerable locations across the Chenab Valley and Pir Panjal range.
Authorities have strongly advised people to stay away from streams, nallas, and areas prone to mudslides to ensure safety during this period of inclement weather.
