Shri Amarnath Yatra 2026: SSB Mountain Rescue Team and Joint Forces Save Female Pilgrim from Gujarat
SRINAGAR JULY 08,2026 : In a swift and highly coordinated joint operation, the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) Mountain Rescue Team (MRT), alongside the Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) Armed MRT and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), successfully rescued a 45-year-old female pilgrim during the ongoing Shri Amarnath Yatra. The devotee, identified as Sarada Ben from Gujarat (ID No. 878677), fell severely ill near Bajarinala around 11:30 AM after developing acute breathing distress and intense body aches, leaving her completely unable to walk.
Upon receiving an urgent alert from a fellow pilgrim, the rescue teams immediately rushed to the location to assess her condition. After checking her vital signs, the personnel administered critical Pre-Hospital Treatment (PHT) on-site to stabilize her. Displaying remarkable efficiency and coordination under challenging terrain conditions, the joint team evacuated her on a stretcher from Bajarinala to Kelamore—a arduous distance of approximately 2.2 kilometers. From there, she was safely transported to the State Medical Hospital at Railpathri along the Baltal route for advanced medical care, ultimately saving her life.
