Kargil Vijay Diwas 2026: Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami to Honor Families of Martyrs
DEHRADUN, July 8, 2026: Uttarakhand is gearing up to celebrate Kargil Vijay Diwas as ‘Shaurya Diwas’ with immense enthusiasm on July 26. To mark the occasion, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will pay rich tributes to the brave martyrs at a state-level function organized at Gandhi Park in Dehradun, where he will also felicitate the war widows (Veer Naris) and families of the fallen heroes.
The district administration has already kicked off extensive preparations, with Dehradun District Magistrate Dr. Ashish Chauhan directing all concerned departments to finalize the arrangements within a strict timeline. The commemorations will commence on the evening of July 25 with patriotic songs being broadcast across major intersections of the city, followed by the main event on July 26 featuring cultural programs centered around patriotism and Uttarakhand’s rich folk culture.
Additionally, local schools will host painting competitions for junior students and essay-writing contests for senior students to instill a sense of national pride.
