Palghar Miracle: Pregnant Woman Rescued From Floodwaters Using Door as Stretcher, Gives Birth to Healthy Baby Boys

PALGHAR, July 8: In a heartwarming display of courage and humanity amid torrential rains, a pregnant woman trapped in the floodwaters of Palghar district was successfully rescued and delivered a healthy baby boy. The dramatic rescue unfolded in the Hanumanpada area of Kelve Road, where heavy downpours had left the locality heavily inundated with chest-deep water. Priyanka Ravi Yadav suddenly went into labor, but because of the severe flooding, ambulances and rescue vehicles were completely unable to reach her home.

Recognizing the gravity of the situation, local ASHA worker Divya Gharat, social worker Chetan Gawad, and a group of quick-thinking residents stepped in to help. In a desperate bid to move her to safety, the team detached a wooden door from a nearby house to use as a makeshift stretcher. Placing Priyanka on the door, the rescuers waded through chest-deep floodwaters, risking their own lives to safely carry her out of the submerged neighborhood.

Once clear of the floods, Priyanka was rushed to the Saphale Rural Hospital, where doctors immediately attended to her. Thanks to the timely medical intervention, she successfully gave birth to a healthy baby boy. Both the mother and the newborn are currently in stable condition and doing well. The heroic efforts of Divya Gharat, Chetan Gawad, and the local citizens have garnered widespread praise from all quarters, serving as an inspiring example of humanity during a crisis.
