Shri Amarnath Yatra 2026 fifth batch of pilgrims leaves Jammu for base camps under tight Security

JAMMU, July 6, 2026:- The fifth batch of pilgrims undertaking the annual Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026 departed from the Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas early Monday morning under tight security arrangements.

Officials confirmed that a total of 5,794 pilgrims left for the twin base camps in Kashmir in a convoy consisting of 267 vehicles. Among the departing pilgrims, 2,304 are heading toward the Baltal route, while 3,490 are traveling via the traditional Pahalgam route.The latest batch includes 3,887 male pilgrims, 1,211 females, 20 children, 599 sadhus, 76 sadhvis, and one sadhu child.

To accommodate the travelers, the convoy was organized into 126 buses, 32 medium motor vehicles, 104 light motor vehicles, and five two-wheelers. Under a multi-layer security cover, the Baltal convoy was the first to depart at 3:10 a.m., followed shortly by the Pahalgam convoy at 3:50 a.m.

Meanwhile, intermittent rainfall across the Ramban district on Sunday night and Monday morning brought much-needed relief from the prevailing heatwave. The change in weather has created pleasant conditions for the pilgrims and tourists traveling along the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.
