Ladakh Power Transmission Projects Fast Tracked After Vinai Kumar Saxena Meets Bhupender Yadav

NEW DELHI, June 29, 2026 — Ladakh administration head Vinai Kumar Saxena met with Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Bhupender Yadav in New Delhi to accelerate the clearance of critical developmental infrastructure.

The primary focus of the discussion was securing pending approvals from the National Board for Wildlife for the installation of power transmission lines across various remote and far-flung areas of the Himalayan region.

During the high-level meeting, Saxena also highlighted several innovative steps being taken in the union territory to promote environmental sustainability, enrich local biodiversity, and build ecological resilience in the high-altitude terrain.

Yadav assured full cooperation from the central government and promised to expedite the necessary clearances to ensure the power projects can proceed without delay.
