Ladakh ANTF arrests youth with suspected heroin in Leh anti narcotics drive
LEH, July 4, 2026 — The Anti-Narcotics Task Force of Ladakh conducted a successful anti-narcotics operation in Leh, apprehending a 22-year-old individual found in possession of a small quantity of a heroin-like substance. The arrest is part of an ongoing, sustained crackdown against drug abuse and illicit narcotics trafficking across the Union Territory.
The ANTF team recovered the suspected contraband from the possession of Stanzin Odthan, a resident of Shenam, Leh, and son of Tundup Gonbo. The recovery was executed in strict accordance with the legally prescribed procedures.
Following the seizure, a case was registered under FIR No. 06/2026 under Section 8/21 of the NDPS Act at the Police Station ANTF, UT Ladakh.The accused has been taken into custody, and a comprehensive investigation is underway to trace the source of the contraband, uncover potential supply chain linkages, and investigate other dimensions of the case.
Reaffirming its zero-tolerance policy toward narcotics, ANTF Ladakh urged the general public to remain vigilant and promptly share any information regarding drug-related activities with law enforcement to support the mission of achieving a drug-free Ladakh.
