Srinagar Airport withdraws full runway closure plan

SRINAGAR, July 04, 2026 — Srinagar Airport has announced that there will be no full airfield closure this year, reversing a previously proposed plan that would have shut down the runway on Mondays and Tuesdays.

According to an official operations update, the airport will remain functional every day with daytime operational hours set between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM.While daytime flights will proceed uninterrupted, night closures will remain in effect until October 2026 to facilitate essential runway maintenance.

Airlines are expected to adjust and update their flight schedules to align with these prevailing operational timings.

Travelers are strongly advised to verify their flight status directly with their respective airlines before heading to the airport and to depend solely on official communication channels for authentic updates.
