Rajouri administration flags off farmers for interstate exposure training to Himachal Pradesh

RAJOURI, July 4, 2026 — Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Ravi Kumar Sihag flagged off a contingent of 40 farmers for a seven-day interstate exposure-cum-training programme at CSK HPKV, Palampur in Himachal Pradesh. The training visit has been organized under the ATMA (SMAE) 2026-27 scheme. Chief Agriculture Officer Rajouri Rajesh Verma and other senior officers from the Agriculture Department were present during the flag-off ceremony.

The exposure visit aims to provide local farmers with practical knowledge and firsthand experience concerning advanced agricultural technologies and successful farming models. Throughout the seven-day training session, participants will learn about mushroom cultivation, beekeeping, protected cultivation, horticulture, integrated farming systems, value addition, and various other innovative farming practices.

Ravi Kumar Sihag encouraged the participating farmers to actively engage in the training sessions to thoroughly master these modern techniques. He urged them to adopt these best practices on their own farms upon their return and to share the acquired knowledge with fellow farmers to ensure the benefits of modern agriculture reach the wider farming community.

Rajesh Verma added that the program is specifically designed to build farmer capacity by acquainting them with proven technologies, enabling them to enhance productivity, diversify their farming operations, and improve their income.

The Department of Agriculture Production and Farmers Welfare reiterated its commitment to empowering local farmers through regular training and extension activities to promote sustainable and profitable agriculture across the district.
